There are builds you complete and forget. And then there are builds that stay with you. The MATTEL BRICK SHOP™ Hot Wheels® Elite Series 2015 Audi R8 LMS is firmly in the second category.

I've built a lot of sets over the years — from sprawling LEGO® Technic flagships to intricate 1:8 scale supercars — but this one genuinely surprised me. From the moment I opened the box, it was clear this wasn't your average licensed brick set. The attention to detail, the quality of the parts, and the sheer ambition of the design had me hooked from piece one.

First Impressions

The box itself sets the tone — premium, confident, and unmistakably Hot Wheels®. Inside, the parts are well-sorted, the instruction booklet is clear and well-designed, and the part quality is excellent. You can tell Mattel has put serious thought into this as a collector's product, not just a toy.

The 2015 Audi R8 LMS is a legendary GT racing car — and the Elite Series treatment does it full justice. Every panel line, every air intake, every aerodynamic detail has been translated into brick form with remarkable accuracy.

The Build Experience

This is not a beginner's build. The techniques are advanced, the part count is substantial, and there are moments where patience is genuinely required. But that's exactly what makes it so satisfying.
